BWT relies on a flexible and customisable ecommerce solution with Shopware 6

BWT, a subsidiary of a leading water technology company, faced challenges with its previous e-commerce platform, SiteCore Commerce, which offered limited integration options and poorly-conceived functions for its complex multi-store solution. Needing a flexible and individually adaptable system for both B2B and B2C sales, the company chose to migrate to the Shopware 6 platform from vendor Shopware.

The solution implemented by Shopware provided BWT with an API-first, open-source architecture that enabled seamless integration of vital third-party systems, including a loyalty points program and IoT connectivity for subscription services. The use of Shopware's Shopping Experiences feature also allowed for easy content management and an improved user experience. As a result, BWT successfully launched its new stores after an 11-month implementation and achieved a significantly lower bounce rate post-relaunch.
