A Shopware Case Study
BÜFA, a medium‑sized family‑owned chemical company from Oldenburg with about 600 employees and a catalog of 49,000 articles, wanted to launch its first B2B e‑commerce channel (chemiekaufen.de) to open a new sales channel in Germany. The challenge was to support complex B2B needs—customer‑specific pricing, rights and role management with approval workflows, large‑quantity offers, and legal/regulatory checks for controlled chemicals—so BÜFA selected Shopware, using Shopware 6 Enterprise Edition with Diamond Subscription.
Shopware delivered a Shopware 6 store (implemented with Enterprise partner HEPTACOM) leveraging Shopping Experiences, the offer and subscription features, team administration, and approval workflows, and integrating with MeDaPro PIM, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NAV 2016 and the Chembid search engine; hosting runs on BÜFA’s servers in external data centres. The shop went live after seven months with three months of aftercare, currently lists ~600 articles (from a 49,000‑item range), handles regulatory purchase checks online, provides customer‑specific pricing and streamlined ordering, and has measurably accelerated purchasing and enabled BÜFA to expand digital sales—outcomes BÜFA attributes to Shopware’s platform and ecosystem.
