Bayerisches Münzkontor is a long-established B2C mail-order retailer of collector coins (around 1,150 products) with headquarters in Waldaschaff and about 400 employees. Facing limited flexibility and high manual workload with its previous Magento shop, the company sought a shop system that internal developers could extend, that would integrate with its AS/400 SPH inventory management, lower licensing costs, and allow clear measurement of cross-marketing activities. Bayerisches Münzkontor chose Shopware (Shopware Enterprise with Diamond Subscription, using Advanced Feature Digital Publishing and the magnalister multichannel interface) and engaged Shopware partners intoCommerce and econsor for the relaunch.
Shopware, implemented by intoCommerce and econsor, delivered a REST-based integration to the SPH system that automates product and image imports, nightly order exports, promotional pricing and promo-code tracking, and faster incremental updates. The new Shopware solution simplified workflows, eliminated manual order-entry costs, improved homepage usability, and enabled clear campaign measurement; conversion rate rose and average shopping cart value increased by 29% after the relaunch (implementation completed in nine months).
