A Shopify Plus Case Study
Sofa Club, a UK home-furnishing retailer that migrated from WordPress and upgraded to Shopify Plus in 2018, needed to scale its online business and improve three key areas: capture more customer emails, recover abandoned carts, and reduce negative Trustpilot reviews. Working with Shopify Plus and using its Merchant Growth Model (MGM) as a growth roadmap, Sofa Club set clear targets to grow revenue and streamline operations.
Following Shopify Plus’s MGM guidance, Sofa Club installed Privy to capture 25,000 emails (converting nearly 100 customers for ~£60,000), shifted abandoned-cart outreach to SMS to recover about £350,000, and used Trustpilot incentives plus a review team to cut negative reviews from 25% to 19% in 90 days. The results: Sofa Club exceeded MGM-informed sales targets by £130,000 and grew total revenue 244% year-over-year.
