Lindt opened its first ecommerce store in 5 days to serve customers in a COVID-19 world

Lindt faced an urgent ecommerce challenge when COVID-19 forced the closure of its 56 Canadian stores just before Easter—its second-largest sales period—with no existing way to sell seasonal inventory online. To move quickly, Lindt turned to Shopify Plus and its commerce platform to build an online presence and fulfill customer demand.

Working with Shopify Plus, Lindt launched a live store in five days, listing 40 SKUs and enabling buy-online curbside pickup at 16 stores using the Shopify Plus admin to manage products and store locations. The rapid rollout let Lindt reach shoppers during Easter, delivered high customer satisfaction, and proved popular in stores; Shopify Plus is now helping Lindt expand functionality with local delivery, additional languages, more inventory, and a Merchant Growth Model for continued growth.
