Knix’s virtual warehouse sale hosted 35,000 shoppers in only 10 minutes

Knix, an innovator in intimate apparel, faced a sudden challenge when COVID-19 made its annual Toronto warehouse sale impossible to host in person. To preserve the brand’s community-driven, in-store fitting experience and continue its growth plans, Knix partnered with Shopify Plus to pivot quickly to digital—launching virtual fittings and a dedicated Shopify Plus storefront to recreate the excitement of the physical sale.

Using Shopify Plus, Knix built a branded virtual warehouse sale with mystery bundles, tens of thousands of items, and a scheduling system for 20-minute “Knixpert” fittings; promotion was driven via unpaid social and email. The results were dramatic: more than 35,000 shoppers in the first 10 minutes, thousands of concurrent checkouts (over 5,000 at peak), inventory sold out within a day, 97% of virtual fitting slots booked and thousands of fittings per month—outcomes Knix achieved with Shopify Plus while cutting physical event costs and enabling scalable virtual growth.
