Allbirds’ omnichannel conversions soared using buy in store, ship to customer

Allbirds, the fast-growing footwear brand known for its wool sneakers, faced the challenge of delivering a seamless omnichannel retail experience across small, high-traffic stores. To handle peak foot traffic and turn in-store demand into sales when specific sizes or styles weren’t on hand, Allbirds relied on Shopify POS as part of the Shopify Plus platform to provide a nimble, scalable point-of-sale and unified customer data system.

Using Shopify Plus and Shopify POS, Allbirds trained every associate to check out customers anywhere on the sales floor and enabled a “buy in store, ship to customer” endless-aisle workflow. The result: faster checkouts with up to 18 POS systems running per store, higher conversions compared with emailed cart links, smarter inventory insights that reduced in-store stock and space needs, and a single view of customers across channels — all driving stronger omnichannel performance for Allbirds.
