A SHL Case Study
Leading Professional Services Organization faced a critical hiring challenge: recruit large numbers of Content Moderators who could accurately and efficiently process high volumes of offensive user content while maintaining emotional resilience. Traditional screening methods failed to predict on-the-job performance, leading to poor hires, high attrition, and an urgent need to redesign the selection process for a major social-media moderation contract.
SHL built and deployed a custom job-simulation assessment—combining realistic content-moderation scenarios with an IRT-based cognitive test and a Big‑5 emotional-resilience measure—in about six weeks. SHL evaluated 3,000+ candidates at scale, halved time-to-hire, and drove a roughly 70–75% reduction in bad hires (validation showed a 0.47 correlation with job success), producing faster, more reliable hiring and improved retention and productivity for the client.
