Campari Group, a global premium spirits company, was growing rapidly through acquisitions and organic expansion, but its leadership decisions were too often based on subjective “gut feel.” To reduce the risk of failed senior appointments and better identify future leaders, Campari partnered with SHL and its leadership identification and assessment solutions.
SHL helped Campari define core leadership competencies, build a common framework, and launch development centers and talent board reviews to support succession, promotion, and external hiring decisions. The results were strong: Campari reported zero failures in appointments made since the program began, internal fills rose to 60% versus a 50% target, and leadership quality improved across the organization.
