Cyber Monday Retail Traffic Spike Solution Finds its way to BT

BT Expedite, the retail unit of BT, needed a way to handle major traffic spikes on its eCommerce platforms during peak periods such as Cyber Monday and Christmas. To manage the increased load on web, content, and blog sites, BT turned to Severalnines and its ClusterControl platform for MySQL database cluster management.

Severalnines implemented ClusterControl to deliver a fully automated, cross–data center database infrastructure on BT Cloud, including rapid cluster setup, auto-recovery, and failure detection alerts. The solution helped BT Expedite establish a database cluster in around 15 minutes, improve scalability and availability, and manage six MySQL database clusters with greater agility and confidence ahead of major retail events.
