How Adobe Leveraged Jira for a Public Issue Tracker

Adobe, a leading provider of digital marketing and media tools, planned to open-source its Flex framework and needed a public-facing issue tracker to support hundreds of internal engineers and external community contributors. The challenge was to design and deploy a JIRA-based system on an aggressive timeline and migrate existing bug records from multiple Adobe systems while ensuring integration with Adobe’s development workflows.

ServiceRocket (Atlassian consulting partner) designed, customized and implemented a public JIRA instance with custom workflows, plugins and an integration to Adobe’s build infrastructure. Working onsite and remotely, they migrated legacy data and rolled out the solution in six weeks to 100+ developers, delivering a scalable issue-tracking platform for the Flex open-source project.
