Northern Alberta Institute of Technology streamlines processes to enhance the student experience

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is a leading Canadian polytechnic in Edmonton serving about 40,000 students. Faced with an outdated IT ticketing tool and rising upgrade costs, NAIT needed a modern, cloud-native platform that could both modernize IT service delivery and support broader institutional and student services across campus.

NAIT implemented ServiceNow’s Now Platform for IT Service Management and built custom apps for fleet management, work orders and on‑campus deliveries, learning services, international student support surveys, and asset tracking. The results include streamlined administration, online vehicle booking and damage tracking, a student portal for tutorials and practice exams, earlier intervention for at‑risk international students, full asset visibility, reduced administrative time (one app saves seven days/month and pays for itself in four weeks), and an overall improved student experience.
