Irvine Company, a private real-estate firm known for creating sustainable planned communities and delivering “legendary” service, faced rising IT demands from rapid business growth while needing to stay cost-neutral. Their challenge was to empower employees with efficient, on-demand IT services and eliminate time-consuming manual processes so the IT team could be more agile and focused on higher-value work.
They deployed a ServiceNow self-service portal and used ServiceNow Orchestration to automate high-volume tasks such as MDM provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, and Active Directory updates. MDM provisioning went from five days to under 15 minutes; ServiceNow now handles 3,600 tickets per quarter, 70% of requests come through the portal, and the program saves more than $150,000 a year — paying for itself in less than a year and freeing IT to expand automation across CRM/ERP and facilities.
