Fairview Health Services, a nonprofit healthcare system serving Minnesota and the upper Midwest, depended on a large IT estate—more than 1,500 applications, many mission‑critical with strict RTOs. They managed disaster recovery manually with Word documents, which was time-consuming, error-prone, and made it difficult to verify recovery objectives or keep plans current.
To address this, Fairview deployed a ready-to-run FairchildApp on the ServiceNow platform, leveraging the ServiceNow CMDB as a single source of truth. The solution automated DR planning, kept plans in sync with infrastructure changes, enabled exercises and RTO-gap visibility, and saved roughly nine months versus building in-house. The cloud-based approach improved resilience, drove strong adoption, and opened the door to broader business continuity integration.
