Broadcom Ltd., a global semiconductor company formed after Avago’s acquisition of Broadcom Corp., faced rapid expansion through multiple acquisitions between 2014–2016 that outpaced its existing, customized ITSM tool. The company needed a reliable, scalable, cloud-based, ITIL-compliant platform to consolidate applications, reduce operating costs, support fast integrations, and extend service management beyond IT while preserving secure handling of sensitive HR requests.
Broadcom selected ServiceNow for its compliance, extensibility and APIs, and — with ServiceNow professional services using a scrum approach — implemented core ITSM modules and went live in 90 days. The cloud platform allowed Broadcom to maintain a single administrator, preserve global processes and a consolidated help desk, extend service management to HR, facilities and customer service, and pursue more than US$100M in technology savings while building self-service capabilities to reduce level‑1 support.
