A Service Works Global Case Study
Spotless, appointed under a PPP to manage facilities at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (nRAH), faced the challenge of running 14 non-clinical services across a 180,000 m2, 800‑bed, 24/7 hospital — a logistics task comparable to operating a small city. With more than 500 full‑time equivalent staff, strict PPP performance targets and the need to protect clinical time, Spotless needed a way to coordinate services, meet response SLAs and integrate tightly with clinical and building systems.
The solution combined QFM facilities management software, a continuously staffed centralised helpdesk, an integration engine and specialist technologies (AGVs, RFID tag tracking, meal and inventory management, BMS and nurse‑call interfaces) to automate and prioritise service requests. The integrated platform delivers real‑time reporting, an audited PPP payment mechanism and automated workflows that improve responsiveness, reduce clinical follow‑up, ensure compliance and streamline operations — in many cases resolving issues automatically before clinical staff are affected.
