A Service Works Global Case Study
The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is a world-leading oceanographic research facility with sites in Southampton and Liverpool, housing around 1,700 staff, extensive visitor programmes, two research vessels and over 50,000 m² of specialist laboratories and equipment. The estates team of 40+ needed a reliable system to control planned preventative maintenance (PPM), react to maintenance requests, manage complex assets and coordinate busy room bookings across the site.
NOC retained and uses QFM CAFM software to schedule PPMs, log and prioritise reactive jobs, give contractor-level access, manage room bookings and capture user feedback via dynamic forms. The platform delivered better reporting and auditability, improved staff utilisation and asset reliability, increased room utilisation, supported ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance, and produced measurable cost, efficiency and environmental benefits.
