A Service Works Global Case Study

Maintaining FM service delivery at a multi-campus university

Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a Perth-based higher education and research institution with three campuses, ~23,000 students and a large, expanding estate. The Buildings and Services team faced the challenge of improving processes, controlling maintenance across new and aging assets, and capturing reliable building-performance data to support benchmarking and ongoing capital projects.

ECU implemented Service Works Global’s QFM in 2010 to centralise data on over 6,200 assets and manage reactive, planned and preventative maintenance, plus cleaning, across a $1bn portfolio. Intelligent scheduling, a centralised helpdesk, automated prioritisation and reporting gave managers KPI insight, reduced duplicate call-outs and backlog, and improved operational efficiency—helping the university maintain high facilities standards as it grows.
