Creating 3D models to increase the quality of information across the building lifecycle

Service Works Global (SWG) is an international provider of facilities management and BIM software and services that helps owners and operators create accurate, searchable 3D models of existing buildings to improve information quality across the building lifecycle. Clients such as Uppsala Kommuns Fastighets AB, Ports of Stockholm and partnerships for large housing renovations faced challenges with incomplete or inaccessible documentation, the need to support redevelopment and maintenance decisions, and the requirement to capture existing conditions without disrupting operations.

SWG used high‑speed 3D laser scanning (Leica RTC360), 3D modelling, CAFM integration and digital‑twin workflows to deliver scalable, measurable models and drawings—including interiors, docks and leased premises—while keeping scanning efficient and non‑intrusive. The result was lower scanning costs, accurate and actionable BIM data for design, construction and FM, improved decision‑making for renovations and maintenance, and streamlined information flow across project lifecycles.
