Washington Municipal Utilities Enhances Water and Electric Infrastructure with Sensus

Washington Municipal Utilities, a utility provider for over 11,000 residents, faced the challenge of aging water and electric infrastructure that made billing inaccurate and customer service difficult. To create efficiencies and prepare for city growth, WMU partnered with Sensus to replace their old meters and implement a unified advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) solution.

Sensus implemented its FlexNet communication network alongside iCon A and SR II meters to create a single system for both electric and water metering. This Sensus solution enabled near real-time monitoring, which helped quickly identify issues like water leaks for customers. The result was significantly enhanced billing accuracy and improved customer service, successfully supporting the municipal utility's growth initiatives.
