Wake Electric Uses Sensus Data Driven Solutions to Meet Goals

Wake Electric, a rural electric cooperative, sought to provide excellent service at affordable rates and become one of the nation's most progressive cooperatives. To achieve these goals, they wanted to maximize their investment in their existing Sensus FlexNet communication system and find new ways to leverage their data for actionable insights.

Sensus provided data analytics solutions, including the Transformer Utilization application, to turn data into operational intelligence. This allowed Wake Electric to transition from reactive to proactive management. As a key result, Sensus data revealed that over 13,000 of the co-op's 17,000 transformers were severely underutilized, enabling immediate actions to optimize assets, extend equipment life, and improve overall system design.
