Mount Pleasant Waterworks Creates a New Customer Service Experience

Mount Pleasant Waterworks, a water utility serving a tech-savvy community with high expectations, faced challenges with an outdated automated meter reading system. Their old technology led to missed reads, billing delays, and an inability to provide customers with detailed usage data. To meet these demands for accurate insight, they sought a new solution and partnered with vendor Sensus.

Sensus implemented its Advanced Metering Infrastructure solution, which included SR II water meters and the FlexNet communication system. They also provided Managed Services to handle network and software maintenance. The pilot was a resounding success, achieving 100 percent meter read success. This allowed Mount Pleasant Waterworks to free up resources and focus on building a new, data-driven customer service experience, leading to a full roll-out of the Sensus technology.
