JEA, the largest municipal electric utility in Florida and one of the largest water and sewer utilities in the nation, faced a significant challenge with aging commercial and industrial water meters that had reached their end of life. This put approximately one-third of their water revenue at risk. To recapture unaccounted-for water and revenue across 25,000 accounts, they partnered with Sensus to develop a meter upgrade program.

Sensus implemented a solution that involved replacing JEA's legacy meters with Sensus OMNI meters and addressing infrastructure issues like failed valves. This allowed JEA to recover one billion gallons of previously unaccounted-for water. The program also accelerated their meter testing process, doubling their team's daily productivity, and provided enhanced customer service through the smart meter's data logging capabilities.
