A Sensus Case Study
The Etowah Water & Sewer Authority, a utility serving 5,400 customers in Georgia, faced the challenge of replacing its aging metering infrastructure. Seeking a solution that would provide greater accuracy, reliability, and future-proof capabilities, the utility partnered with Sensus to implement a comprehensive Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system.
Sensus deployed its FlexNet communication system and iPERL water meters, which offered superior accuracy and long-range connectivity even in hilly terrain. This Sensus solution delivered significant results, including a 5% increase in revenue without a rate hike and vastly improved customer service through data-driven conversations and leak alerts. The project is on track to achieve a full return on investment in under seven years.
