Dangler is an online social marketplace built by anglers for anglers, created to help buyers and sellers of fishing gear connect in a more trusted, secure way. To support complex secondhand transactions, the company needed an in-app chat experience that would let users ask questions, verify products, and communicate privately before making a purchase, so it chose Sendbird’s chat API.
Sendbird implemented a customizable, secure real-time messaging solution for Dangler with one-to-one chat, read and delivery receipts, image and video sharing, online notifications, and moderation tools like profanity filters and abuse flagging. The result was a more trusted marketplace experience: Dangler found that users typically opened a chat session before buying, and messaging became a fundamental part of driving sales and future growth.
