Motive, formerly KeepTruckin, needed a reliable way to connect drivers and back-office teams across a large fleet management platform. Its existing messaging API provider could no longer support the business, and the company needed a seamless, customizable chat solution that would work across older Android devices, support rich messaging, and migrate data without disrupting service. Motive chose Sendbird’s chat API to replace its previous provider and better support real-time communication inside its app.
With Sendbird, Motive implemented one-to-one and group chat, broadcasts, image sharing, and integrated messaging throughout its platform, including from workflow views like maps and driver lists. The results included increased app stickiness, with back-office users spending over 30 minutes a day messaging and 94% returning daily, while calls and SMS between drivers and the back office decreased substantially. Motive also reported improved driver onboarding, stronger trust across fleets, and time and cost savings from more streamlined communication.
