Zalando, Europe’s leading fashion e-commerce platform serving 15 markets and millions of customers, needed a way to scale personalized email marketing without burdening its large CRM teams with technical complexity. The challenge was to provide standardized, CI-compliant templates that Direct Marketing managers could quickly adapt for different campaigns, segments and countries without creating new templates for every variation.
Working with Selligent, Zalando implemented a two‑layer solution — an intuitive Express UI for marketers and a more complex Editor backend — with centrally stored HTML templates, predefined visualizations and drop-down content choices. The setup streamlined workflows, reduced design handoffs and errors, improved targeting and personalization, and delivered faster editing, easier onboarding and measurable time savings.
