Cinesa, Spain’s market-leading cinema chain, faced a twofold challenge: convert Cinesacard loyalty holders into registered online users and create a viral referral campaign to increase theater attendance.

Working with Selligent, Cinesa deployed a responsive, personalized multichannel program—targeted newsletters and triggered emails, a Selligent-hosted landing/login page that issued shareable discount codes, pop-up reminders, and a points-and-rewards system for referrals. The campaign sent more than 143,000 emails (deliverability >99%), drove 5,000 cardholders to the site, saw 10% invite at least one friend, achieved >30% open rates, >8% CTR and a 42% click-to-open rate, identified influential Twitter users, and won Selligent’s Social award.
