Asda - Customer Case Study

ASDA, part of the Walmart family and one of the UK’s leading grocery and clothing retailers with nearly 400 supermarkets and 160,000 employees, wanted to turn its Easter TV ad featuring a giant chocolate hen into a fully integrated omnichannel campaign. The challenge was to coordinate location-based, store-specific offers across 300+ stores to boost seasonal sales, increase brand awareness and loyalty, and re-engage previously dormant customers.

Using Selligent’s Engagement Sphere, ASDA delivered real-time, location- and weather-aware personalization across SMS, in‑app push, responsive email and landing pages, plus Live Content for store-specific experiences. The campaign reached about 6 million customers, generated 4.2 million online views (40% from previously disengaged customers), sparked a viral #GiantHen social-media surge with user-generated content, and drove strong in-store engagement and seasonal sales.
