fotokasten is a German premium photo‑printing company that relies on the holiday season for roughly half its annual sales and faces intense competition from both online and brick‑and‑mortar rivals. Seeking to boost customer acquisition and daily engagement in the run‑up to Christmas, the company needed a scalable, trackable campaign that would drive repeat visits and capture new registrants.

fotokasten built a 24‑day Advent Calendar Sweepstakes on its own website using the Selligent platform, combining daily prize draws, cross‑channel promotion and an opt‑in daily reminder email. The campaign drove strong results: about 7,200 daily users and 25,890 unique participants in 2013, with 45% new registrants, reminder emails achieving a 57% open rate and 74–80% click‑to‑open, and widespread increases in acquisition and engagement leading into the holidays.
