Case Study: MongoDB increases developer registration rates and revenue with Segment

A Segment Case Study

Preview of the MongoDB Case Study

How MongoDB gave developers timely product information and increased revenue

MongoDB, a developer data platform, needed a better way to keep developers informed about products, tools, and features before they turned to competitors. Its customer data was spread across multiple systems, making it hard to create a complete, real-time view of user behavior and deliver timely, relevant education. MongoDB turned to Segment and Twilio Segment Engage to help unify data and improve personalization across its developer experience.

With Segment, MongoDB centralized event data, built real-time customer profiles, and activated those insights through tools like Profiles Sync, Reverse ETL, and Profile API. This enabled targeted live chat, in-product messaging, email, and web personalization, resulting in higher engagement, improved open and click-through rates, stronger conversion rates, better ROAS, lower CAC, and a 100X increase in event registration rates.
