Consulting.com, a New York–based online education platform that trains entrepreneurs to become independent consultants, needed to scale customer acquisition on Facebook but faced two major challenges: manually updating CSV-based audiences that quickly became stale, and Facebook’s URL-based audience tools prevented them from targeting the higher-value purchasers who drove the most revenue. Those limitations led to wasted ad spend and declining conversion rates.
They implemented Segment Personas to unify user data, build granular cohorts from in-page events and purchase properties, and automatically push updated seed and lookalike audiences to Facebook. The automation let them run experiments 11% faster, improved Facebook ad performance by about 10%, and helped generate more than $650,000 in additional revenue by focusing spend on higher-value customers.
