WPSD-TV, a television station in Paducah, Kentucky, sought to generate revenue and boost audience engagement during a key ratings period. They partnered with vendor Second Street Lab, inspired by a case study from its Promotions Summit, to execute an online contest.
Second Street Lab implemented a "Food for Friends" grocery giveaway promotion on WPSD's Facebook page. The daily contest, sponsored by a local car dealership, encouraged entries and sharing by offering groceries for the winner and a friend. The solution drove 7,235 entries, collected 4,598 email opt-ins and 4,156 new Facebook likes for the advertiser, and generated $10,000 in direct revenue for WPSD-TV.
