WMEE-FM, a radio station in Fort Wayne, Indiana, wanted to grow its email database and launch a new segmented newsletter for local moms called the Mom Squad. Working with Second Street Lab, the station used a popular cutest baby photo contest to engage parents, collect newsletter sign-ups, and gather useful audience data for future marketing efforts.

Second Street Lab helped WMEE-FM run the contest in two phases—submission and voting—with newsletter opt-ins and survey questions built in. The campaign drew more than 1,900 photo entries, 13,000 votes, and over 5,800 new newsletter subscribers, while also identifying valuable lead data for advertisers, including that 10% of users were interested in buying a new car.
