Case Study: The News Tribune achieves $200K in sponsorship revenue and season-long fan engagement with Second Street Lab

A Second Street Lab Case Study

Preview of the The News Tribune Case Study

The News Tribune sold a survey, infographic, submission contests, quizzes, & sweepstakes to a group of advertisers and drove season-long engagement for fans

The News Tribune, a daily paper in Tacoma, WA, wanted to keep baseball fans engaged throughout the seven-month season while creating new sponsorship opportunities for advertisers. Working with Second Street Lab, they used a bundled campaign approach built around interactive content and a central baseball landing page.

Second Street Lab helped The News Tribune launch a six-part campaign including surveys, quizzes, contests, infographic content, and a sweepstakes, all supported by tiered sponsorship packages and broad promotional placement. The results were strong: the campaign generated $200,000 in revenue, the best ever from one campaign, with nearly 800 survey entries, over 500 sweepstakes entries, and close to 150 contest entries, while sponsors reported greater value and ROI.
