Preview of the The News Tribune Case Study

The News Tribune - Customer Case Study

The News Tribune, a daily newspaper in Tacoma, WA, wanted to boost reader engagement and generate revenue during the six-month football season. Working with Second Street Lab, it launched a layered promotions strategy using a pro football pick’em contest, a fan photo contest, quizzes, and a fan infographic to reach both avid football fans and more casual readers.

Second Street Lab helped The News Tribune execute the multi-promotion campaign with heavy cross-channel branding, sponsor integration, and turnkey contests. The result was $126,500 in sponsorship revenue, 833 participants in the pick’em, and 578 photo contest registrants with 1,279 votes and 325 email opt-ins, proving the campaign successfully drove both engagement and measurable income.
