Small-Market Reader’s Choice Revenue Surges with 100% Growth YOY

Forsyth County News, a Morris Multimedia newspaper in Cumming, Georgia, wanted to make its Best of Forsyth Reader’s Choice ballot the community’s go-to “best of” program and use it to grow audience, data, and revenue. Working with Second Street Lab, the paper used a ballot and registration experience to compete with other local awards promotions while building its email list and strengthening its local authority.

Second Street Lab helped Forsyth County News launch and promote the ballot across print, web, social, and email, while also enabling sponsorships, nominee ad packages, and post-vote winner marketing. The campaign generated nearly $100,000 in direct revenue, 141,197 votes, and 4,474 email opt-ins from 9,330 users, while sales increased 40% year over year and the ballot doubled in votes from about 70,000 to 140,000.
