School Spirit Contest Brings in $14K in Revenue & Over 2,000 Opt-ins

Greeley Tribune, part of Swift Communications, wanted to create an engaging online promotion that would help local sponsor Peak KIA North connect with the community and support area schools. Using Second Street Lab’s contest platform/service, the paper launched the “Show Your School Spirit” photo contest across 10 high schools, encouraging students to submit spirit photos and the community to vote.

Second Street Lab helped Greeley Tribune execute the campaign with print, digital, and social promotion, plus a live leaderboard to track school standings. The contest delivered strong results: $14,000 in revenue, 2,176 email opt-ins, 32 submissions, and more than 6,000 votes, with Roosevelt High School winning $10,000 to buy iPads for classrooms.
