KKFN-FM, a Denver sports radio station, wanted a way to boost listener engagement around March college basketball while also generating new advertising revenue. Working with Second Street Lab, the station built a basketball bracket promotion that extended its on-air programming and gave local sponsors a targeted way to reach a sports-minded audience.
Second Street Lab implemented a category-exclusive sponsorship package that combined contest pages, email marketing, banner ads, on-air promos, streaming spots, and live broadcast activations. The campaign was a strong success: KKFN-FM earned $40,000 in revenue, the urology center generated 50 procedures, and the media college received more than 100 qualified leads, while the other sponsors also saw increased business.
