Yorkshire Building Society - Customer Case Study

Yorkshire Building Society, the UK’s second largest building society (3.5 million members, ~£33bn assets), needed to replace spreadsheet-based project tracking and an aging time-recording system. A small PMO managing roughly 25 strategic and 200 smaller/infrastructure projects wanted a single “Single Version Of The Truth” for reporting, resource and portfolio management (including what‑if scenarios) and sought a vendor partner who would provide training and a long-term relationship.

After a formal procurement they selected Sciforma and rolled it out in phases (project Nov 2009–Apr 2010, time recording live Jan 2010). Delivered on time and on budget, the solution automated reporting, vastly improved forecasting and resource management, and saved significant staff time—allowing the same PMO to cope with merger-related workload and manage 12 strategic plus ~100 smaller projects—while users praised the product’s flexibility and layered permissions.
