Rakuten, a leading online retail platform, faced challenges with an obsolete image management system that could not scale to handle its massive volume of assets. Their goals were to manage millions of assets, access advanced distribution tools, and rely on a robust API. The Scaleflex team was engaged to address these multimedia asset management problems.

Scaleflex implemented a customized API solution for Rakuten, which was deployed rapidly using natural CDN traffic for migration. This allowed Rakuten to successfully migrate 22 TB of images and to store, manage, and distribute over 150 million assets. The Scaleflex solution provided the advanced categorization and faster distribution capabilities the company required.
