PLDT, the Philippines’ largest fully integrated telecom company, faced procurement and supply chain inefficiencies caused by manual, siloed legacy processes, limited spend visibility, and a 2022 budget overrun. The company needed a unified way for finance, procurement, operations, and suppliers to manage spend, reduce risk, and align purchasing with business strategy, working with SAP and SAP Ariba to modernize source-to-pay.

SAP implemented SAP Ariba, SAP Business Network, SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite, and SAP S/4HANA integration to automate procurement, sourcing, contracts, and supplier management. The results included 4,600+ suppliers managed, 2,800+ sourcing events worth $630M+ over two years, $6.4B+ in spend through SAP Business Network, 96% sourcing-event adoption, 99% contract review adoption, 100% PO/invoice processing, and a 15% reduction in PR-to-PO cycle time.
