Vodafone partnered with Accenture and SAP — including SAP SuccessFactors — to accelerate a company-wide digital transformation. The telecommunications giant faced limited real-time insights from a legacy ERP, heavy customizations that complicated upgrades, wide process variability across countries, and a suboptimal employee experience; it needed to standardize and automate end-to-end processes to improve efficiency and visibility for its ~100,000 employees.

Working with SAP SuccessFactors as part of a broader SAP suite (SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Ariba, Concur, Fieldglass and SAP MaxAttention services) Vodafone implemented a single cloud instance and integrated intelligent automation. The deployment automated >70% of core processes and standardized ~85% across 24 countries, cut database size from 22 TB to 7 TB, eliminated 26% of legacy localizations, enabled 500 ms spend-analysis reporting, allowed rapid supplier payment-term changes for thousands of suppliers, and delivered higher efficiency, lower error rates, faster month-end closes and improved employee Net Promoter Scores — outcomes driven by SAP SuccessFactors and the broader SAP implementation.
