Gelsenwasser AG, a utilities provider in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, faced fragmented planning: end-to-end processes weren’t mapped in IT and there was limited transparency about upstream data quality, hindering consistent, efficient sales and management planning.
Working with ConVista and using SAP Analytics Cloud together with SAP BW/4HANA and existing Oracle databases, Gelsenwasser implemented a fully integrated sales-planning solution that calculates all planning processes up to CM2 in real time (including taxes and levies) and enables comprehensive plan-versus-actual comparisons. The rollout cut planning resources by about 30%, improved planning quality and consistency, and created a platform for future advances such as AI and predictive maintenance.
