The company faced fragmented, aging IT—12 legacy systems and 500 interconnected interfaces—that prevented mobility, unified customer journeys, real-time insights, and new business models such as subscriptions.

Elkjøp built a cloud-first “Next Generation Retail” platform centered on SAP ERP, SAP Customer Experience solutions and SAP Integration Suite with an event-driven, microservices architecture and a unified customer activity repository. The rollout (460 stores in one year) delivered 100% in-store mobility, seamless online–in-store experiences, integrated 500 interfaces, real-time reporting and high-volume messaging, and improved sales, productivity, uptime and customer and employee satisfaction while replacing legacy systems and boosting profitability.
