Atlas Copco, a global leader in industrial tools, construction and mining equipment, and assembly systems, faced extreme configuration complexity: 23,000 unique compressor models, 10 service-plan types (often serviceable for 25 years), and an estimated 52 billion possible product/service combinations across multiple brands, languages and currencies. Spreadsheets couldn’t scale—pricing and quote creation required more than 75 people and was not done in real time, slowing sales and increasing administrative cost and error risk.
The company implemented CallidusCloud Configure Price Quote (CPQ), which now supports 26 brands, 53 currencies (310 price books), 20 languages, eight integrations and 30,000+ configurations for 6,000 users in 72 countries. Quotes are generated in under four minutes, administrative pricing staff fell to five people, and the business gained higher order accuracy, increased margins, quote-to-order automation and centralized master data for benchmarking and strategic BI—delivering substantial time and cost savings.
