PLDT Inc., the Philippines’ largest fully integrated telecommunications company, needed to modernize procurement and spend processes to support its digital ambitions. Manual, paper- and e-mail–based workflows caused errors, long cycle times, low spend visibility, and limited operational efficiency across the business.

PLDT implemented seven SAP Ariba solutions integrated with SAP S/4HANA and the SAP Business Network, supported by SAP-led workshops and change-management services, completing the rollout in 22 weeks. The transformation digitalized source-to-pay processes, shortened sourcing and contract cycles, cut manual data entry and errors, and delivered central spend visibility — including $1.4 billion in network spend through the SAP Business Network in the first three months and $580 million under contract via SAP Ariba Contracts.
