A SAP Concur Case Study
Southeastern University, a private Christian liberal arts college with 140 extension sites and about 10,000 students, was managing a $4–5M annual P‑card program with a very lean finance team and two separate vendor programs. When one vendor abruptly stopped hosting their program, the university scrambled to consolidate cards and discovered they lacked visibility, policy enforcement and automated workflows—relying on manual GL entries and limited staff time for P‑card administration.
SEU implemented SAP Concur (Concur Expense, ExpenseIt and the P‑Card Financial Integrator) alongside American Express and plans for Global Business Travel, automating approvals, audits and data flows and working toward ERP integration. The rollout has already streamlined user experience, improved reporting and visibility into spend, enabled stricter policy enforcement (including disabling non‑compliant cards), reduced manual reconciliation hours, and positioned the university to negotiate vendor rates and realize further savings as adoption continues.
