Merz North America, a specialty healthcare company, faced a costly operational challenge collecting and validating large volumes of healthcare provider (HCP) data to meet federal and state Open Payments (Sunshine Act) requirements. Its 600 sales representatives were manually entering HCPs into Concur Expense, creating data-quality issues that consumed significant finance-team time and exposed the company to reporting risks and potential CMS penalties.

Merz implemented MedPro Systems’ Concur Connect, a prebuilt integration that provides live access to 19 million HCP records (MedProID) from within Concur, and was deployed in four weeks. In the first year more than 600 reps completed 36,000 searches, eliminating manual entry and backend data stewardship, improving data accuracy and compliance, and saving substantial time for both sales and finance.
