Eaton corporation eliminates hundreds of thousands of dollars of negative cash flow per year

Eaton, a Fortune 500 global power-management leader with about $8 billion in revenue and 59,000 employees, faced fragmented travel-and-entertainment (T&E) processes: five divisions used different, manual systems with multiple approvals and paper-check reimbursements. These redundant procedures created inefficiencies and significant negative cash flow, prompting Eaton to centralize and automate its T&E management.

After evaluating Extensity, Oracle and Concur, Eaton selected Concur Expense—testing functionality with scripted scenarios—and rolled it out to more than 7,000 users. The Concur implementation centralized expense processing, eliminated paper checks and much indirect labor, delivered enterprise-wide spend data for better vendor negotiations, and removed hundreds of thousands of dollars of negative cash flow per year while boosting productivity.
